In addition to Black Belt Leader, Peaceful Leader: An Introduction to Catholic Servant Leadership, Tim is the author of the internationally acclaimed Leading People the Black Belt Way: Conquering the Five Core Problems Facing Leaders Today and co-author (with brother Patrick) of The Way of Leading People: Unlocking Your Integral Leadership Skills with the Tao Te Ching. (All of Tim's books are available through the Asogomi Publishing International website, as well as through on-line booksellers and where ever good books are sold.)

Growing up in Cleveland, Ohio, Tim was baptized in the Roman Catholic faith at St. James Church in Lakewood, Ohio and attended elementary school at St. Clements in Lakewood (part of the Diocese of Cleveland) and completed undergraduate work at the University of Dayton, Ohio’s largest Catholic university. Tim was deeply influenced by the members of the Society of Mary (Marianist priests and brothers) as well as the Congregatation of the Daughters of Mary Immaculate (Marianist sisters). Tim began deepening his faith in conversations and spiritual direction with the Marianists. It was here that Tim began to study and explore Catholic contemplative and mystic traditions.

The Marianists introduced Tim to the writings of Joseph Campbell, C. G. Jung and Jungian psychology, and Tim decided to pursue a career in psychology. Attending U.D. in the mid- to late 1980's, Tim was one of the first conscientious objectors that the campus had seen in years. Tim began his psychology career in Dayton by volunteering at a Suicide Crisis Hotline. Tim also began his study of T'ai Chi Ch'uan while at U.D.

After graduating from U.D., Tim spent a year in Chicago studying with the Jesuits at Loyola University, Chicago

Tim began his Aikido training in Chicago under Aikira Tohei sensei (now, sadly, deceased) at the Midwest Aikido Center.  Tim also began his Zen training at several Zen Centers in Chicago.

He then returned home to Cleveland, Ohio to finish his graduate studies at Cleveland State University. Tim worked his way through graduate school working weekends at a halfway house and crisis shelter for severely emotionally disturbed adults.

Tim began his career as an author following 9/11, when he wrote "Ten Tips for Talking with Children about Terrorism," which was distributed around the globe via the world wide web. Due to the success of that tip sheet, Tim was proud to be selected by Praeger Press as one of the international experts to contribute a chapter entitled, Everyday Terrorism—The Long Shadow of Our Hidden Dragon: Shared Factors of Terrorism and Juvenile ViolenceTim's chapter was published in Volume 4 of The Psychology of Terrorism, a four-volume set of books edited by Chrisotopher Stout, Ph.D.

Beginning in 2000, Tim began his post-graduate training at the world-famous Gestalt Institute of Cleveland, finishing his basic Gestalt Training Program, as well as two advanced tracks ... Working with Physical Process (WWPP) and Working Integrally with Groups. It was here that Tim was introduced to the integral work of Ken Wilber, as well as deepening his studies into phenomenological approaches to improving human performance. Tim is proud to be a visiting staff member at the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland.

Strongly committed to issues of peace, nonviolence and justice, Tim speaks to Catholic professionals and students across the country. Tim’s dynamic and highly interactive presentations consistently receive “Excellent” ratings from participants.
